Stand with Montanans is a response to the overwhelming grip that big money has on politics today. Our democracy functions best when the voices of the people are heard. But in the wake of Citizens United, big corporations and billionaires are drowning out our voices. Big money has taken over our elections and our government, but enough is enough!

JOIN Stand with Montanans to get involved in the campaign. We are building a team of supporters to attend events, volunteer with the campaign, and help spread the word about this important effort. Only together will we, the people of Montana, succeed in pushing back against the tidal wave of big money in politics.

VOLUNTEER with the I-166 campaign. This campaign is about the people reclaiming our democracy. It's about restoring a government of, by, and for the people. With the support of people like you, we can turn back the tide of big money in politics.

ENDORSE the Stand with Montanans campaign to make your voice heard. Together, we will make it clear that corporations aren't people and that it is time to once again ban corporate campaign spending.

DONATE to the Stand with Montanans campaign. Needless to say, this campaign won't be funded by big corporate money, so we're going to need support from people like you in order to win.

So, Norma, by your logic corporations don’t have “voting members” but unions do? There are some people who are promoting this issue that have no critical thinking skills whatsoever. There is no reason to express your sorrow for me by saying “poor Andy Larson”. I am not poor and do quite well thank you, thanks for your concern though. I also understand the issues just fine and I am not trying to confuse one single voter’s mind with my thoughts on this issue. I would love for you to point out how I am wrong in comparing the political money laundering power of unions to that of corporations, not the individual voters in corporations or unions (you brought that up, I did not). And by the way you already proved my point in my comments below that it does not matter how much money an entity puts into a political message if the voters are well informed about the issues they care about. You care about the environment and researched the issue to your satisfaction to not vote for Rick Hill, great! That is what I mean by not having to disallow corporations ( and my opinion is that if corporations are limited unions must be as well because neither by themselves are people ) to make political donations because with educated voters if the message is wrong or people don’t like it it does not matter how much money is put into the message. I have different views than you obviously, for example I believe Obama sold his soul to the communist collectivist ideology which in my opinion has never worked well in the history of the world and will damage the country, I believe also that unions promote this as well, but I am not upset about how much $ unions put into Obummer’s campaign I just don’t buy the message. You are free to ignore campaign messages from corporations in the same manner. But to my original point how can it be logical to limit a non-person entity like a corporation and allow a non-person entity like a union to go unlimited???? I don’t really feel strongly about this issue one way or the other but I do see hypocrisy in the issue on the part of people promoting this.

Poor Andy Larson believes that Unions don’t have voting members. who decide who they will vote for…. he just believes in Union and voting suppression, then adds a bunch of partisan talking points to confuse the voter.
Did you know that Rick Hill just sold, his soul to Big Business, yep he is proud to be endorsed by the very same outside folks that is a radical anti-environmental organization linked to the law firm of Colorado’s now-Secretary of State, Scott Gessler, Otherwise known as Western Tradition Partnership. This very same group that destroyed our Montana Corporate finance laws so they could turn the state into a giant cesspool of Mining waste!

I disagree, will your organization help dismantle the Labor and Public Union political machine as well? The use of union dues, taxpayer money, and paid union employee time to promote one highly socialist big government agenda for one party is as, or more destructive to each individual’s vote than corporate donations. Will your organization give equal time and effort to both these problems? I already have formed my opinion about what I think of your agenda but I could be proved wrong. I think anyone and any group should be able to throw as much money away as they want on a political message and it is up to the voters to be knowlegable enough about the issues to make a choice on whose message they agree with and vote accordingly.
